49ers coach Mike Nolan offered an interesting explanation why wide receiver Antonio Bryant hasn’t had many 100-yard games of late. Bryant opened the season with eight catches for 245 yards. In the last four games, he has only eight catches for 140 yards. Bryant hasn’t had a 70-yard game since Oct. 15. Said Nolan, “The reason that may have dropped off is because some people have started to load the box, because we have dictated that we have the ability to run the ball. When they do that, they have matched up and pressed. That commitment to the line does give you access sometimes to the outside, but it also creates a pocket that is much more disruptive than when there aren’t all those people inside.” Nolan is pleased with how Bryant has played this season.

4 hours after the fact.I’ve seen a vast attitude improvement on the field as far as Bryant is concerend, and that’s a good thing.
A small thing has driven me crazy these past few years.
With T.O. it was all about him and his little improv dances. Brandon Lloyd and Morton used to catch a few balls, spring up and proclaim FIRST DOWN with their hands. We were losing most of those games, yet because they made one catch, was it so great they had to puff their chest out like it’s something special??? Make the catch, do your job, and get back to the huddle. Let the ref call the first down.
Vernon Davis makes one catch, a good strong YAC, then has to proclaim FIRST DOWN likes it’s something great???
Learn the system, catch more balls and earn the right to puff out your chest, PLEASE! I like ya kid, let’s help this team grow through production.

Hell that’s the damn problem. We need some of those players to be cocky, didn’t nobody say nothing when deion sanders used to show boat and he is the king of show boating.I’m tired of these weak minded players playing football with no emotion. So what if a player beats his chest or get the crowd hyped up, that’s a sign of a player that takes pride of what he do and at the same time let his opponent know he is the best in match ups.Even the great Steve Young used to dance around with T.O. in the endzone at times.

I like it better when the defense puffs their chest, after crushing a runner or flattening a receiver!

You are a fucking idiot. Do you realize that if we hired another coach we would probably be well on our way to another first overall pick? Meaning we would be the worst team in the league again and probably wouldn’t have Gore and Smith anyway? Nolan has been doing an amazing job given the situation he inherited from the Erickson/Donohue regime and in year 2 is giving us playoff hopes. So if you don’t like that kind of progress find another team to root for.

Anyway if you want to say he cost us that game what about the Walt Harris TD that was called back though it was a fumble? That hurt way more because it actually did erase guaranteed points.

Cost us the game? I don’t know what game you were watching, but the only thing that cost us (niners) to lose was the defense giving up a touchdown with a few minutes left.
For an improving team, I only wish the niners were up by 4 with only a few minutes left in every game.
Remember, the team is not experienced and not really talented in all areas. Play hard, progress, draft well, and sign a few free agents. It will be playoff time next year.
