One last thing before I head on vacation. To newsworthy to pass up.
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Antonio Bryant was arrested Sunday night on suspicion of drunken driving, resisting arrest and speeding after he was pulled over for driving more than 100 mph on Highway 101 and then became “belligerent,” police said today.
A San Mateo City police officer saw Bryant, 25, in Redwood City just before midnight Sunday driving north on the freeway in a 2005 Lamborghini at speeds “well over 100 mph,” Capt. Kevin Raffaelli said. Bryant got off the freeway at Kehoe Avenue in San Mateo and stopped on a side street, Raffaelli said.
“He was initially contacted for reckless driving and excessive speed … but officers noticed signs that he was under the influence and tried to get him to cooperate,” Raffaelli said. “He was extremely uncooperative and belligerent to officers.”
Based on “objective signs” that he was intoxicated, the officers attempted to arrest Bryant for driving under the influence, he said. But the wide receiver “became combative,” Raffaelli said, and refused to get into the police car.
“He ultimately had to be restrained and placed in the car,” Raffaelli said. “He was pretty verbally abusive and derogatory.”
The exchange was recorded on audio tape, he said.
The officer who first spotted Bryant’s car was unable to catch up to it, Raffaelli said. A second officer saw the car a few minutes later and pulled it over near Kehoe Avenue.
Ultimately, eight officers and two sergeants responded to the scene of the arrest, Raffaelli said.
Bryant was booked into San Mateo County Jail in Redwood City at 2:50 a.m. Monday and was released four hours later, according to jail officials. Bail was set at $5,000, but Bryant was released on his own recognizance.
The San Mateo County district attorney’s office has not made a decision about what charges, if any, to file against Bryant. He is scheduled to be arraigned Dec. 28 at 9 a.m.
The 49ers issued a statement today saying, “We are aware of the off-field situation involving Antonio Bryant. Due to the nature of the incident, the 49ers are withholding further comment at this time.”

Bryant is an idiot. If he played it cool, they would have let him go with a speeding ticket or something…but his dumbass seemed to want a DUI. Nice job dummy, I hope you got someone to drive you around for the next 6 months.

Are Niner fans the most negative? Seriously, the guy messed up. He’s not the first Niner to do it and he won’t be the last. Brandon Lloyd hasn’t done a damn thing in Washington. Not even a highlight reel catch. I just hope this will make him want to prove himself.

Nolan cost the game agains the Rams….The way we were moving the ball in the fourth quarter…we were down in Rams terretory so even if we did not convert on 4th down it would have been 90 to get a TD.

We needed this one in order to have a shot in the playoff

Man I wish Nolan had some balls, & that was a bull shit call when they called back Walt’s fumble return for the TD. I also hope Frank Gore is ok.
5 days after the fact.Siler said:
Fuck Nolan, that stupid pussy son of a bitch!! Why the HELL would you not go for it on 4th and a centimeter? So much for the playoffs.
5 days after the fact.Big M said:
Damn, you know when he made the call I wasn’t that mad since we Gore is probably our best guy in short yardage since Michael Robinson stopped moving his feet upon contact on 3rd and short… but we could have run a sneak and gotten it… unless Nolan thinks Heitmann can’t get that push… I dunno.
Anyways, it was a disappointing loss, but I think Nolan will take this one as a learning experience as a young head coach.
5 days after the fact.Big M said:
Damn I’m still down after this lost… I just checked out the highlights on the team website and that was a fumble! Walt Harris knocked that shit out, and we were bonin them at that point… we could have/should have dominated after that huge momentum boost. They were able to run all over us that first half, and Bryant cost Gore at 20-30 yards and cost the team two first downs and basically killed our drives because he is a fucking lying idiot… saying he’s grown up. What a little bitch he’s a detriment to the team right now… And Michael Robinson needs to keep moving his damn legs… that pissed me off. I think the refs fucked us on that by the way, but they wouldnt have been able to had Robinson kept moving his damn legs once he got hit… he just stopped and got bounced back… and Vernon Davis needs to catch the fucking ball… I know he’s a rookie but he is hte highest paid player at his position… he really needs to step it up, catch the ball, and stop worrying about YAC.

I can only look forward to an offseason that could make our defense looks like this if all goes right:
RE-Marques Douglas
NT-Ronald Fields
LE-Bryant Young
LOLB-Adalius Thomas*
MLB-Brandon Moore
MLB-Patrick Willis#
ROLB-Manny Lawson
CB-Nate Clements*
CB-Shawntae Spencer/Walt Harris
FS-Keith Lewis
SS-Michael Lewis*
at DE, Chad Lavalais and Robaire Smith will be available. At NT, Terdell Sands will be there. At FS, Deon Grant and Ken Hamlin are available, at WR, Drew Bennet and Kelley Washington are there.
- Draft Picks
5 days after the fact.I’d like to see us take Patrick Willis from Ole Miss. He is projected mid first round and he is a baller, and most important a character guy. He had a rough childhood and was pretty much adopted by his high school coach nad lives and breathes football. If not him, I’d like to see us nab one of those recievers (Jarret, Johnson, or maybe Ginn) or we could maybe catch a steal later on, (maybe Anthony Gonzalez?), or a good safety.

Big M is a retard…york aint gonna spend money on FA’s..and there is no way we’re goin back to 3-4 on defense
6 days after the fact.Big M said:
hey snowman… suck some snowdick… know what you’re talking about before you call someone a retard. the only reason we aren’t a 3-4 team is because we don’t have the linebackers for it… yet. Nolan and Davis prefer the 3-4, and we have 20 million in cap space… York is clearing out his rep for being cheap, and being cheap doesn’t matter when you have a salary cap anyways. they designed the new collective bargaining agreement to give the owners even more money, so no reason to hold that on our team’s head. i can’t wait til i’m right.

i meant $30 mil in cap space.

I missed this game and not too happy reading the results. Can anyone tell me if Nolan explained himself why he send in the field goal unit when it is only 4th and a hair?
I am curious on what he had to say.
7 days after the fact.Big M said:
He basically said he wouldn’t have changed the decision. I know a lot of people hate the decision, but honestly I think he made the right choice at the time. The reason he made the choice was because they couldn’t get the first down on 3rd and 1 and SF’s D had shut down StL’s O for the whole second half until that point. The smart play was to get up by 4 and make StL move the ball 80 yards into the endzone which they hadn’t shown they could do through the air. He had actually decided that they would go for the FG if the measurement was short, so when it was short by a hair, he already knew what he wanted to do. Turns out Bulger goes 9 for 9 on that last drive and Steven Jackson makes some key plays. Marcus Hudson also gets a pentaly inside the ten that makes it that much easier for them to score.

For a couple of days I was really pissed at Nolan for not going for it, but I am starting to come around to his decision, with this point. They should have thrown the flag for them to check the spot. I thought from what I could see on TV that it was a bad spot. If nothing else, it would have given everyone a chance to go through their options. Maybe try to draw the Rams offsides. Even a delay of game penalty wouldn’t have made a difference.
Bottom line: they never put any pressure on the qb on the last drive, Ullbrich was out of position (or couldn’t cover) on a number of those dumps to the back, and the clown who drew the delay of game penalty and stopped the clock should be shot.
They probably weren’t going to go to the playoffs this year anyway. If they whip the Saints this week I’ll start crying about last Sunday.

It really sucks having come so close after having beat Seattle. We stil have an outside shot being just one game behing Wild Card, but we would have to go 4-1 in the last five games. Resonably, I can´t see ourselves beating N.O., Seattle or Denver as visitors. What I hate the most is the schedule the Rams have left… 3 of the 5 worst teams in the NFL and Minnesota. The situations would be completely different if we hadn´t lost Sundays game. We´ll have to wait and see.
