HOLY CRAP! All of this Nolan bashing and I had nothing to do with it??? Hahahaha. Guys, if there is anyone to blame for where we are it is not Mike Nolan right now, it is our lousy owner. John York is the worst owner in the entire NFL. Mike Nolan is also thus far a horrible coach. He looks like a coach, talks like a coach, has drafted fine, but HE CAN NOT COACH. Still, we should NOT fire him. If we lose Mike Nolan, we lose Norv Turner. I do not want to lose Norv Turner.

As for all of you fans who are waiving off the Nolan critics are stupid, you need to listen up and open your eyes. No one expected Mike Nolan to work miracles, but everyone expects IMPROVEMENT. We have shown NONE. The offense is better, but that is entirely credited to NORV TURNER, not Mike Nolan. From last year to this year, the only thing that has changed is the addition to Larry Allen to the offensive line and Antonio Bryant to the recieving corps. You can even throw Dilfer in their for his mentoring of Alex Smith. Our offense is not improved as a unit, it is improved because of Turner. Our defense is the worst in the NFL and we have a defensive coordinator at head coach. Our franchise has broken so many futility records for points allowed in a game/quarter/half under Mike Nolan that this team has not shown improvement, but DECLINE. All I am saying is this a forumn, look at the whole picture.

Does anyone have an idea what´s our salary cap going to look like for next year?

Regarding draft, I´d rather pick up FAs for the secondary, that type of job requires experience and it´s not something you can come and excel right out of college. Linebackers and Defensive linemen are like RBs in the draft. You can take a good college RB and have him be very productive from day one. But, Corners and safeties are like QBs ans WRs, they require 1-3 years experience to develop. I don´t think Nolan has 3 more years to develop any young CB into a shut down corner.

I say we draft DE`s on the first round, give depth to LB in rounds 2 and 3 and try to sign a good CB and Safety.

Davis #6 Pick for President you say some pretty smart things but what you said about mariuchi is all wrong. You know that he was given no young tallent but T.O. Donuhue could not draft worth shit and thats what happend when Mariuchi was a coach. Fucking J.J. Stokes first round pick...are you kidding me (only value to 9ers was the giants game in the playoffs when he scored once or twice).

I'm glad some intelligence has been displayed here. The defense has to be fixed, agreed. But I don't expect it this season and it won't be all the way fixed by next season. This is a huge rebuilding job for any coach. The Niners have been in the wrong hands for too long, all starting with Mariuchi. Nolan's next move has to be firing the D cordinator, then finding a good one, and I don't expect any less then him following through on that.

Alex Smith played great yesterday. The pick he threw was a batted ball, not his fault. He made a great pass to Bryant that resulted in a fumble.

Nolan is doing a good job. He brought in Bryant, 1000 yard reciever. He brought in Allen, considered one of the best linemen of all time. He brought in Norv Turner. Jesus people, what do you expect of him?

Did you really think he would take on of the worst teams in recent history, and in one offseason, make a great offense AND a great defense?

Bill Walsh came in and led the Niners to a 2-14 and 6-10 record. Guess what?

The 3rd season, they won the superbowl.

Do you think that the fans were happy with 8 wins in 2 years?

No. Does that mean that the Niners would have been better if they would have fired Walsh after that season?

HELL NO.
