However, Nolan has neglected the defense for the first two years of his tenure, and I doubt this is by accident. Rebuilding a team doesn't take just two offseasons, especially one that was as crappy as Erickson/Donahue left this one. Expect the defense to get bolstered big time this season, as contrary to the draft picks of the past two years, this year's draft will probably be primarily defensive. He would have been a waste of money, because he couldn't do anything here either. And it has nothing to do with the front office being cheap. If that was the case they wouldn't have given both Smith their contracts. Davis his. Resign Spencer and so on...the front office maybe cheap when it comes to stamps, water, and belt buckles, but they always pay the amount on contracts the GM's have asked for.
