In the wake of Week 1, I’m not sure what’s more prideless: 49ers faithful upbeat about a seven-point loss to Arizona, or these same bozos celebrating the Raiders’ shellacking at the hands of the Chargers.
It was proven in a preseason game last month in Oakland, and it will be reiterated next month in San Francisco: The Raiders are a better team than the 49ers. Nothing that happened in the past four days has changed that.

They have the worst starting qb in the league.
They have one of the worst 5 offensive lines.
So unless the 9ers go out and beat themselves, should be the only game in which 9ers are the favorite this year.

Nick, about that Brady Quinn theory, you must have gone and lost your damn mind. If there is one team anyone wants to play for it is the Raiders. That is a team ruled by owner Al Davis, who brings in big name talent, and who does not let any coach actually coach. Who wouldn’t want to be a Raider coming in, they are always using up as much money as possible and pushing for a better team every year. Quarterbacks like Quinn could only dream of playing with a Randy Moss.
Eventhough the Raiders suck and are losers, it sure would be nice to bring some of the concepts of going all out to try to improve a team, not only primarily through the draft.
As for the Raiders talking shit, they may have killed us in preseason but we will make the Chargers game look like a mercy killing compared to what we will do to them come October 8! GO NINERS!

MJ, I may be a 49er fan but I’m pretty level headed in my observations around the league. No one in their prime, or coming up wants to play for the Raiders anymore. Al Davis hasn’t made a smart decision in 10 years.
“Big Name” players signing with raiders.. umm Brooks.. Sapp.. Rice.. not exactly selecting the raiders over other options. I’m sorry, they may throw money around, but it’s not for big name guys in their prime.
Moss, who came over in a trade, hasn’t produced consistantly since 2003. Porter wants out. Their running backs are subpar. Whoever they draft at qb next year, and they will draft someone, will have his career set back 2 years right off the bat as we all already know the entire current coaching staff won’t be there in ‘08.
Why would any qb in their right mind want to be drafted there if they had a choice?
Raiders are just the 49ers 3 years ago when they headed into the Erikson “era”. Team is getting flooded with overpaid, underachieving players with a terrible coaching staff and bad management decisions being made.

The Raider fans use the pre-season game as a basis but the pre-season means shit. I mean we beat the Chargers in the pre-season but we know we probably wont beat them like that if we do. Who past Moss do the Raiders have at WR that can hurt us? And I dont count Jerry Porter because he is in limbo especially after laughing at that dummy Brooks getting destroyed.
And like it has been said here. The Cards didnt beat us. We beat us. Two fumbles(minus 2 TDs for AZ), 1 TD called back because Kwame Harris is useless(plus 1 TD for us), and a missed FG by Nedney(plus 3 for us), score is 34-27 was the final score but reverse those things that went bad for us and the score ends up being 37-20 Niners win. We made the Defense, O-Line, and Running game of the Cards look flat out awful. And that passing game wouldnt have scored as much if their first two series they didnt have such great field position to start with. I mean even Burntrel Rolle was bitter because he knew deep down our O killed their D and Bryant destroyed him all game.

I haven’t quite forgiven Al Davis for taking the Raiders to LA years ago. So when some idiot brags that the Raiders are better than the 49ers based on a preseason game, it’s fun to watch his team implode, and listen to the announcers comment over and over about how bad they are.
The Raiders are dead….Let’s prepare for the Eagles.
