After a round of operations on his shoulders and knees in recent years, Frank Gore heads into the 49ers’ season opener Sunday at Arizona eager to put to rest any questions about his durability.
``I can’t take back what has happened to me,’’ said Gore, the 49ers’ primary running back since the Aug. 20 trade of Kevan Barlow to the New York Jets. ``I don’t even think about it. I’m good. I’m all right. I’m just looking forward to going out there and proving I can get the job done.’‘

It’s funny how so many people bring up the fact the 49ers “took a chance” on Gore, drafting him in the third round. I’m curious to see how many coaches/personnel people thought Gore was a second day player, and possibly an undrafted player.
Remember, if it weren’t for his injuries in college, he would have easily been a first rounder. Didn’t Mike Shannahan believe that the 49ers may have had the steal of the 2005 draft with Gore?
In any case, I look forward to watching Gore and Robinson pound the ball inside, with Hicks changing it up and blowing by people. If the offensive line and runningbacks can make this running game go, the rest of our offense (and possibly team) will do great.

We had a good preseason. What are you expecting? 4-0? I think we showed a lot of progress and for a team that rebuilding that’s all you can ask for.

The 49ers moral is better than ever and strong players that want to go out and take down the “Birds” so, lets go for Gore and show the Jets they mad a mistake and a good descison for the 49ers.

yeaaaaaaaaaaa, by great, I mean the offense doesn’t go three and out (for what it seems) 90% of the time. They’re still a work in progress, and I’ve said this time and time before.
Nolan has the team going in the right direction, but they’re still at least one more season away. It’s taken two seasons to get the offense “fixed”, and theres still a defense that needs some fixing.
I think 6-10 is exactly what I had in mind, but 8-8 isn’t very far off either. The rest of the division isn’t as good as the “experts” at ESPN make them out to be, especially the Seahawks, and the 49ers aren’t as bad as those same “experts” make them out to be either.
