F preseason everything is vanilla. Derek Smith will be solid as usual. It was not just last year but all five years he has been in San Fran, recording over 100 tackles and at least tieing as the teams leading tackler each year. He may not be the best middle linebacker in football, but he is certainly the most under rated.
