Ninth-year veteran strong safety Tony Parrish, who has started all 121 NFL games he has played in, is not guaranteed a starting job less than two weeks before the Sept. 10 season opener at Arizona. Parrish and fellow first-teamer Mike Adams are being pushed for their jobs by safeties Chad Williams and Mark Roman.

I read an article that suggested maybe he hadn’t fully recovered from his injury yet. I think Parrish on one leg is still better than anything we have. I have to believe his experience is invaluable.

He was clearly late getting over the top to cover on 2 long completions. He was never a speed guy and he may have now lost a step, which would be unfortunate because Williams/Roman are both just more “waiver wire” stop gaps in an area that is already weak.
