BurlyD_83, it is pointless to argue with you. It is like talking to a wall. Only time will teach you that me and all the people who have similar views (the majority of the people on this specific blog) were right while you are just stubborn and wrong. As for quotes, I think you need to read to yourself one more time. Then a year or 2 from now you will say you never supported the Nolan reign like you say you did not support the Erickson reign. The only thing that will get through to you is time. I will waste no more time on you.

Peace.

I didn't "defend" the Erickson reign. I hated that coach and everything he stood for!
But, I did stand by the 49ers and continue to cheer for them... Why? Because I a 49er fan. The difference between us is that I "cheer" for the 49ers and am Optimistic that they will get better. You on the other hand "bitch" about the team and don't show any hope what-so-ever!

Oh and by the way... In that same quote of yours you say: "You want everyone to believe this franchise MUST fall apart to be great again" -- News for you... this franchise already fell apart... Now we are working on being great again!

To close... That’s, it. I've said what my opinion is and there’s no reason to continue our discussion because you’re not able to carry on a conversation without filling it with bullshit quotes and answers.
I'm sure you'll respond with another post of the exact same stuff, because it’s too much for you to try and think about anything new, so I'm done! Later

MJ, MJ, MJ... Come on man that was a pointless post... You flat out said the exact same thing in your first post to me and along the way, added in a bit more dumb shit.

1.) MJ Said: "The 49ers started rebuilding because they hit salary cap problems! It is not that the good days had come to an end because thus is the way of things. NO! It was because of cap problems. We cut all of our best veterans at one time, signs that were being foretold since the cuts in 1999"

-- Wow... did it take you a while to come up with that??? Because that was obvious to see when it happened! You say that it was not "that the good days had come to an end, but because of cap problems"... Dude, cap problems forcing us cut all of our veteran players WAS THE END OF THE "GOOD DAYS"!

2.) MJ Said: "And there you are again with the “3 years of rebuilding from when Nolan takes over the team.” Funny, last argument you made you said 4 years"

-- Dude, stop being a fucking moron! You must be a little bent out of shape, because now you’re just making shit up... READ my last post and please tell me where I say "3 years of rebuilding from when Nolan takes over the team" (You do understand that when you us quotation marks, if means your quoting someone right??? Because I never once said what you've quoted above)
The nearest thing said to what you quoted was this... "You try to point out that we had already been re-building before Nolan for 3 years and that we should be close to finished" -- THAT IS TALKING ABOUT ERICKSON NOT NOLAN, Thus the "BEFORE NOLAN" part of that quote.
LEARN TO READ AND COMPREHEND (or should I say "Understand", I don't want to confuse you with big words).

3.) MJ Said: "how dare you compare Mike Nolan to Bill Walsh?"

-- First of all, that’s not a question, your trying to make a statement, so don't use a question mark! Second... all I said was "Even the greatest 49er Head Coach of all time – BILL WALSH - had a 2-14 first season record!" -- NOWHERE DOES IT "COMPARE" NOLAN TO BILL WALSH. Does it say... Bill Walsh went 2-14 and Nolan went 4-12 so therefore Nolan must be as good or better compared to Bill Walsh??? NO DUMBASS, IT DOESN'T.
Quit making shit up! If you’re going to try and argue something, make sure its something that I SAID! Not that you THINK I said because you have a hard time understanding a sentence.

4.) MJ Said: "BurlyD_83, you are one of those people who would have defended Erickson during his reign. You want everyone to believe this franchise MUST fall apart to be great again"

-- Now, it looks like your trying to argue a point by saying you know who I am... Have we ever met? Have we ever discussed the Dennis Erickson era? NO!
What's the point of adding something into your argument that you have NO FUCKING IDEA ABOUT??? To fill you in, >NO

BurlyD_83, have you still not learned? I have had the same argument with you in other blogs, does reason not pertrude into that mind of yours? Do you know why the 49ers ever started "rebuilding" in the first place? If you did, you would know you are an idiot. The 49ers started rebuilding because they hit salary cap problems! It is not that the good days had come to an end because thus is the way of things. NO! It was because of cap problems. We cut all of our best veterans at one time, signs that were being foretold since the cuts in 1999.

And there you are again with the "3 years of rebuilding from when Nolan takes over the team." Funny, last argument you made you said 4 years. You say I pointed out we have been rebuilding three years already; YES, WE HAVE! When you get a rookie quarterback and your team's most famous players are gone it is called "rebuilding." This last season marked year #3 in which the newspapers, internet articles, and 49ers coaches themselves defined the 49ers struggles as a "transition of rebuilding." If you want to argue that we are just now starting over, you are out of touch with reality!

BurlyD_83, how dare you compare Mike Nolan to Bill Walsh? Someone really needs to smack your ass. That was one bad season surrounded by many great seasons. Bill Walsh showed signs of improvement while Nolan shows signs of decline. And thanks for stating the obvious in stating that "Nolan was handed a team that was worse than when Erickson took over." Now I am convinced that you truly are an idiot. Erickson was handed an AWESOME team, in fact if we kept Mariuchi and never hired Erickson I would bet you we would have 2 or 3 more superbowls at this time. The fact of the matter is that Erickson did ruin the team by taking it in the wrong direction. Nolan is taking the team in another direction than Erickson, but still in the wrong direction as well.

BurlyD_83, you are one of those people who would have defended Erickson during his reign. You want everyone to believe this franchise MUST fall apart to be great again. You are mistaken. All your BurlyD_83's would have defended Erickson when he was head coach, it is your nature. That is why you defend Nolan's approach now, eventhough it is wrong. You want to know what your main problem is? You think it is an all or nothing dilemma. You think we either MUST build through and only through the draft OR by going after big name players. I am suggested we do BOTH, something that Nolan and you do not believe in. I have watched players from Ty Law and Lavaar Arrington to most recent Stallworth and Lelie gets snatched up. We see problems in the preseason exhibitions and do nothing to fix them. What you call a QUICK FIX is what I call a positive step in the right direction. IT IS POSSIBLE TO PICK UP A BIG NAME PLAYER WITHOUT GOING INTO SALARY CAP HELL! Maybe if we did get a bunch of big name players we may not make a superbowl but it would be signs for us fans that the team is making efforts towards contention.

You want to know what the difference between me and you, BurlyD_83. I want a superbowl now, you want to ride the Nolan train in hopes of even 5 or 6 wins this year. I bet if we won 6 games you would call our seasons a success, wouldn't you? Yes, and then you would pray that maybe 5 years down we may make the playoffs.......BurlyD_83 go blow yourself. The term forty "whiners" was not invented to describe people who speak out when they see something wrong, it was a childish term created by children like yourself.

Finally a poster with some sense... ABQ49ersFan! Good Post.

But watch out... I'm sure the MJ's of this forum will be all over your ass in a couple hours or so for trying to say the team is heading in the right direction and will take time to re-build...
Apparently we are suppose to go from worst to best in 1 year or else everyone in the organization is shit. (I agree... You HAVE to through out the entire Dennis Erickson Era, because it didn't mean shit... Nolan's first year is where you have to "Re-start" our re-building process)

I'm sick of listening to "Self Proclaimed 49ers Fans" who sound more like Raider fans than anything else!

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/nfl/specials/preview/2006/scout.report/49ers.html

-- There are no quick fixes, though. Despite having plenty of salary-cap room, the 49ers are building largely through the draft (19 picks over the past two years), emulating the strategy of the Eagles and the Patriots. It's just going to take San Francisco a good while longer to match those teams' success on the field. -- Nunyo Demasio

This is exactly what I tried to say in an earlier post... Most of the above posts are complaining about Nolan and how he is doing a horrible job, but there isn't 1 coach that could have turned our team around in 1 year after the terrible way Donahoue and Erickson ran the team. - Guess what... Even the greatest 49er Head Coach of all time - BILL WALSH - had a 2-14 first season record!

MJ - You try to point out that we had already been re-building before Nolan for 3 years and that we should be close to finished... Thats fuckin stupid... The reason Nolan was hired was because Dennis Erickson was a complete and total screw up! Nolan was handed a team that was worse than when Erickson took over! So of course we are going to still be in a re-building mode!

Think about your comments before posting stupid shit! Complain all you want about the team, all it does is give 49er fans a bad name - ever wonder why people call the team and fans the Forty "Whiners"??? Because of fans like yourself!

OMG all you "faithfull" or is that what you call your selfs??? The only thing faithfull you guys are is crying. Listen, I have been a 9er fan my whole life and am i worried now...NO. they call it a preseason for a reason, because it is BEFORE the REGULAR season, does it matter if we win these games NO, last the the colts lost all 4 of them and won what 15-16 games in a row, and you guys are getting a little bent out of shpae because we lost two.

The reason the 9ers offense diddnt move the chains in the past two games were because Norv had Alex stay in the pocket. As we all know Alex is not a pocket passer, much like Vick but not flashy. When the regular season starts i forsee that Norv and Nolan gameplan Smith to bootleg more often and that will also help our run game, which wasn't bad, Gore has 98 this preseason, 40 something against the cowpaddies. And our defense did not have all our starters playing. Hey maybe Nolan is trying to keep some stuff back so the Cardinals wont know what hit them in Week 1,

I dont know though, all i do know is that it takes 3 years to rebuild a franchise with one coach, we have had 2 i the past three, if you call erickson that and we have had to start over. Give him more time.

As for free agents, i was a little upset that we didnt get big names but i think we are taking after the Ravens and the Patriots franchises, they, as i recall, didnt land any big time free agents when they went to the supper bowls, I so think the addition of Larry Allen, Bryant and Dilfer will get this team over the hump this year and challenge for a wild car spot at 8-8 our schedule is soft and Gore should have a big year considering that the 9ers season opponents 9th worst in run defense. Just give it time, i know we all want to win now but in the long run we could win for a long time.

Screw it, I just hear the Mike Nolan show. He is not even trying to win the preseason games. Fire his ass or lets start seeing some changes. :)

Easy guys. I am as mad as you are about the preseason games but we will get better. We should get players with those draft picks, I agree, Stallworth was a steal. We could have got him and that linebacker from the Eagles. Still, Nolan only coached one year. Give him this year, but if we suck yes he should be fired. All his moves are questionable, but he does what he thinks is best even if we do not agree. Maybe Alex will be a superstar and maybe Nolan will have turned out okay. I need to see change and soon though, otherwise I am with you. I am not really rollin, the wheels have stopped spinning.
