As he watches from the sidelines, the consensus from media observers is that Derrick Hamilton is a goner the moment he’s healthy enough to pass a physical. But that won’t be for a while. Nolan said Hamilton – out since the opening day of camp with a hamstring injury – won’t practice the rest of this week and remains out indefinitely.
“And if that changes,” Nolan said, “I’ll bring his name up. From here on out, let’s wait because it will be a while before I talk about him.”

It is too bad because the guy has real potential. Regardless, he is useless on the sideline. To denver, with a fourth, for Lelie, and a straight jacket

Not a bad idea. But Denver would have to be stupid to go for that trade. It would be the biggest scam of all time if it happened.

I never understood why we drafted his sorry ass in the first place. Give em to the raiders.

why would that trade be a scam? i mean, denver is desperate for receivers after woods FAILED his physical (hahahahaha). in retrospect, they would be the ones thinking we got scammed on that trade. which we would by the way, lelie has never been and will never be a consistent producer.

I’m with the group that thinks that the trade would be a scam. To some extent, you’re right, because they are desperate for wideouts.
However, by trading only a 4th and an oft-injured, bench player, we don’t necessarily expect Lelie to carry the world on his shoulders. He’s a guy with something to prove, and with the 2nd WR spot somewhat up for grabs, he could be seeing gold and work extra hard to get at it. He hasn’t been in the league long enough to assume he’ll never amount to a decent #3 option.
I really think trading a 4th rounder and Hamilton would benefit us more than the Broncos. Heck, I’d throw in Kwame and Otis Amey too!
We don’t need Lelie to have 60 receptions… imagine this production:
A.Bryant 60-70A.Battle 35-40
9 hours after the fact.A.Lelie 35-40
E.Johnson 30-45
V.Davis 35-55
Runningbacks 50-60
That kind of production averages out to about 15 completions for Alex Smith per game (at least). Now, maybe Alex plays better than anticipated and maybe pushes the 20 completion boundary… that’ll only increase those production numbers.

How about Hamilton, Hicks, and a fourth. I’d say that would be less of a scam…

battle will not get 35-40 catches. be real! he’ll be injured for most of the games. that guy is a fragile little a**hole. i can’‘t believe some faithfuls are calling him anquan-boldin like if he plays to his potential. hAHAHAHAHHAHHAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH

I dont know that hes an Asshole, but he is fragile none the less. He has shown flashes though when healthy. I would give him another year to produce before I pass judgement on the guy, with that said this team does needs a solid number 2 type guy and we do not have that security – not one bit, we can only hope Nolan makes a deal or we cross our fingers on Battle/Gilmore?

What will happen if we just keep giving guys chances to play.this isn’t pop warner if u don’t produce you leave.we can nver have to many decent players and right now we have no clear 2 reciver and if we goin into the year without one it won’t be pretty depending on VD to get us 70 catches just to pick up the slack for the lack of a number 2 wideout.
