Rice to play one last game? Well that is what he’d like to happen. Rice, 43, said he would like to sign a one-day deal and joked that he would like to play in the game.
“Why not?” he said. “Sign with them for a day and just give the fans a big ‘Thank you’ for all the support they have given me over the years, all the inspiration to go out there and play my best football.”
The 49ers and Jerry Rice are currently working on plans for a retirement ceremony for the NFL’s all-time leading receiver, with the possibility of a ceremony at halftime of the 49ers’ home game against Seattle on Nov.19.
