Update: 03:56 - John Clayton during an ESPN chat predicted Brooks will go to the 49ers with a 6th round pick
John Clayton is reporting the Niners are one of three teams showing the most interest in Virginia LB Ahmad Brooks. The other two teams are the Giants and Dolphins. The question facing the Niners and Dolphins is whether to wager at fifth- or sixth-round pick or try to use a first-day draft choice to make sure they get him.

Let’s give them two first rounders so he can be a team problem and not produce in the NFL. Too risky, people have a serious hardon for this guy. There is a reason he wasn’t in the draft. Anything more than a 3rd (which is still allot for him) would be a waste.

This guy could have gone top 10 in the NFL draft this year. I think a 3rd rounder is a steal. Plus we might get a 3rd rounder next year for losing JP, and Carter. I think with Mike S. and Nolan they could set this guy on the right path.
