It seems like a bunch of you are watching something else. He played in all but 6 games last year and dealt with pain every single game, for what??? His team. And when he was in there, he did not get beat and did his thing every game. He played those 10 games because the coaches knew he was the best lineman we had at the game and he is a warrior and true team player. And Ed Gein....He was suppose to bob his head so the recievers and tackles know when to go, when they cant hear the snap count and if you knew anything about football, you would have known that, but obviously you dont. I am a huge 9er fan, but when 49er haters run their mouths but a lot of us being fairweather fans, I could not agree more.

ya i didnt know allen played center either, what i said arock49 is that if he is not 100% when training camp starts (meaning that the surgery was a success) then let our line mold with one solid starter without switching him up at practice and the games. if JN isnt healthy, and they put in heitmann at center, i wont be mad, just as long as that is our center for the whole year barring injury, as long as they mold like they did last year in the final few games where we had a decent and impressive running game, we will be fine

When did Larry Allen start playing center....? You guys are all so loyle, everyone wants to cut Newberry... what if his surgery was a success and hes back healthy... still want to start the Sophmores? He is a smart and very good center, which is a very tough position to fill and you'all just want to start puttin guards there and cross your fingers..... No Loyalty, doesnt make sence.

The best when healthy? You guys forget we got Larry Frickin Allen! I think saying JNew's crippled ass has been better then Allen is just insane. Allen has pro bowl after pro bowl appearences, 9 in total. How many does Newberry have? 2. Newberry has never in his life been as dominant as Larry Allen. I think you guys need to stop smoking so much weed and let me get of few puffs. You guys sound like you got some good shit.

arock49, like last year? when he was giving away the snap count by bobbing his head? no when healthy he is the best, but when not, he isnt, he is not the future of this team, he is the past, so if he is not 100%, no need to stall the development of our nex center, who i think it should be baas

Sorry, but I disagree with almost everyone here. A 60-80% J. New is better than anyone else at center on this team. He is a true warrior and a pro-bowl calibur center bad knee or not. When healthy one of the best in this league, when not healthy, still best on this team......

We don't him. Screw a contract re-structure, how about a contract termination. He will never be the same. I'm not worried about what he knows about reading blocks, because he's never on the field blocking anyone. If the 49ers are going to compete for a championship, we need to leave the sympathy alone. I don't care about what he used to be. He ain't did shit in years.

Ya ever hear the term, What have you done for me lately?

He's definatley kept our bench nice and warm with his big ass, but that ain't going to make your team better.
