Eric…I forget how it works with the whole Comp pick thing and FA. But trust me on this the Niners will get a comp pick for Peterson and Carter.

Antonio Bryant, Bryan Gilmore, Shaun Hill, Andre Torrey, Chad Williams, TJ Slaughter, Walt Harris, and we signed that Full back from Houston I believe?? We signed our fair share of free agents, so i don’t believe we’ll see much in the compensatory draft.

Brooks has had some off field issues but who hasent? I like the fit on this team and I think we have the right staff in place to keep risks like this in place… The reward could be real nice especially if we do an incentive ridden contract. I wouldnt mind a 3rd rounder for him….. He has great potential.

Eric…yes they were UFA’s but usually if you do not get as many FA’s as you lose you get comp picks. Don’t worry they will get at least 2 comp pick. 3 at the most.

I’m willing to bet we do what we can to get this guy if we like him. Nolan is entering his second year and we have a more stable front office in place. Nolan is going to want more solid results this season and he knows that LBs still need an improvement.

you gotta spend money to make money! i mean, you gotta risk picks to get solid players. i say throw a 2nd rounder at him and put him under mike singletary’s tutelage…. golden. the only frightening thing would be starting two OLB’s in lawson and brooks, unless Corey Smith or Brandon Moore beat out Brooks… which… i dunno, moore might…

Does anyone know what status Carter, Peterson, and Beasley were in? I think they were Unrestricted Free Agents, which means we don’t get shit for them. If they were traded, or were Restricted Free Agents, then we’ll get compensation. But not if they were UFA’s, which i’m almost positive they all were.

Eric…don’t forget they should get comp picks for Carter, Peterson, and Beasley. Which would be enough to trade some of their other picks (since you can’t trade comp picks) to move up in the lower rounds if need be.
