The first odds of the season have been released. The opening game line between the 49ers and the Cardinals, have the Cardinals favored by 7 1/2. The over/under is set at 40.

Im sick of people saying how good the Cards are going to be. Their D isnt anything special and their O-Line isnt that great either. So what they got Edge James the only promising part of their Offense is Bolden and Fitz.

I am a loyal niner fan since I was in the 5th grade, but you guys have to be realistic about these odds. We made the cardinals passing game seem like the NFC pro bowl team. Now we have to defend Edge as well.
Our defense has been seriously upgraded, but getting that upgrade for their running game essentially makes the improvements a wash. Which means it all comes down to how may points we can score.

im not surprised at all by these odds. it seems like everybody has us picked to finish dead last. espn has us as 32nd in their preseason power rankings…i seriously do not see how they came up with that. im not saying we should be way up there but we are better than at least 3 or 4 teams, if not more. im ready for the season to start right now even if we lose the opener or not i think we can still win at least 6 games while teams like the texans and jets fight for last place.

EazyE – I hear what you are saying. We gave up almost 400 yards passing to Arizona at Arizona. But, they only had 97 yards rushing. Shipp was their running back. Point? Their offensive line is CRAPTASTIC. Their passing game hasn’t improved much, but our defense has.
Oh yeah, and the second game we played them, our defense only gave up 339 yards passing, but only had 65 yards rushing. This Cardinals team CAN be beat very easily by these Niners IF we’ve improved our passing defense. Also, if our offense improves, it keeps our defense off the field more, keeps them from getting tired. Keeps the ball out of the their offense’s hands.
7 1/2 in the NFL is a A LOT, very disrespectful in my opinion.

It seems like every year the Cards are a trendy pre-season pick to go to the playoffs. I think it is kinda funny.
