MJ, actually nolan did offer Rice a spot at to retire as a 49er at the beginning of training camp but rice decided to try out for a number 3 spot with the broncos and when he didnt get it after pre season, then he decided to retire, u cant blame nolan cuz he offered, rice just didnt accept, and as for last years offensive mishaps, dont forget that nolan gave mcarthy the offense to run, it wasnt even nolan amking those decisions, didnt u read any news and updates last trainig camp, when nolan said mcarthy would make the majority of the offensive decisions, that includes calling the plays, in my opinion i agree with u on the way the time clock got dealt with, but that was mcarthy, we’ll see the difference this year with turner calling the plays, and do u honestly believe ty law will help us get to the super bowl? even with javon walker? lets not forget he tore his acl, what if we gave up that first round pick for him and he doesn’t pan out? then what?we are right back to square one. rebuilding is a big process in football, it’s not like basketball and baseball where one year is horrible then the next ur contending for a championship, everything has to be in proper place, thats what builds dynasties and powerhouses, thats’s why we were great for so long, now it’s time to do it all over again. by the way, his jersey will still get retired, he just didnt retire as a 49er

Also for you Maverick, some examples of big name players making an impact are: Deion Sanders to the 49ers, Deion Sanders to the Cowboys, Terell Owens to the Eagles (he got them to the Superbowl), Joe Montana to the Chiefs (no superbowl but big impact), Jerry Rice to the Raiders (took them to the Superbowl).......list goes on and on. But the rule applies to everyone but the Raiders. Rice carried them as far as they could cuz he was a 49er. HELL THAT BRINGS ME TO ANOTHER REASON I DON’T LIKE NOLAN, THAT ASS WOULD NOT LET RICE SIGN WITH THE 49ers THIS YEAR OR LAST YEAR SO THAT HE COULD RETIRE HIS JERSEY. He said he needed “a roster spot for players.” Yeah, ok, players like Kwame Harris….........

Maverick, they are the Raiders. They just suck. The rule applies to everyone but them. Ha Ha Ha. As for Justin and the ball-handling rule, man are you serious? You mean to tell me that after all these years of football where all the other quarterbacks played with different footballs that Alex Smith’s reason for dropping it was because it was “moist and muddy?” Give me a break. I still think he was a bad pick, but time will tell (I hope I am wrong.) As for Ted Bundy, I said Nolan made great draft picks but I still do not like him as a coach. Yes, only one year but how close have you watched the guy? HE IS DEFENSIVELY ORIENTED like no other coach I have ever seen. If you watched our games last year as painfully as I did, like that 2nd game against the Eagles (for example) then tell me this: Why is it when we were down by over 20 points and it was halfway through the 4th quarter…..why on earth were we punting on 4th down and 2’s??? WHY WERE WERE WE PUNTING ON 4th DOWNS AT ALL WHEN DOWN THAT MUCH??? You take the chance, go for it, and let your team learn. You TRY to win, not give up and try to lose by less points. That is ridiculous. Or have you seen Nolan’s time management last year? The man is an idiot when it comes to the time clock! There were 3 games last year we would have won if he knew how to manage time. Like were are down by 7 or less points, its the fourth quarter with less that 4 minutes left, and than 2 minutes left, and the idiot does not call a single timout to stop the clock! Nope. He lets the offense hurry, make bad plays, and punt the ball (with less that 2 minutes left in the game mind you) and prays the defense gets an interception. The man is so defensively oriented that its the reason the defense is on the field so much more than the offense. The man knows nothing about offense. I really do believe he hopes the defense, which is all he knows, will get him his interceptions and fumbles. So am I “rollin’ with Nolan?” Probably not. I am rolling with the 49ers. As for me calling 49er fans gay, nah brah you got it wrong. Only those who say they are 49er fans that say we are rebulding every year instead of demanding nothing less of a Superbowl.

Don’t know about the whole ball handling situation. But I heard that there is a new rule allowing visiting teams to use their own balls on offense or something like that. Plus, Alex Smith has been working with moist and muddy footballs to help him get used to bad weather. Being better than Tom Brady’s overrated ass, yes. Better than Peyton Manning, shrugs shoulder. Better than Joe Montana, woah woah woah woah woah woah woah… Lois this is not my Batman glass.

MJ, a little harsh but partially true, maybe the fans have degraded their expectations to “pray for playoffs” each year, but the fact of the matter is that last year no team was willing to trade up to the number one spot cuz there was no one player there that they couldnt get at a lower pick, not every rookie qb has the luxury of like a dan marino or roethlisberger to go to an already good team, we made do with what was there and smith is a damn smart kid, as far as “One person does not make a team” is totally true, we also had tim mcdonald and merton hanks and others in the secondary that year that contributed to the super bowl, and if i am not mistaken, all but one of our db’s made it to the pro bowl that year, deion may have elevated their game but it wasn’t all him, that year was the only real year “big name FA’s” actually gave us a super bowl, everything b4 that we built, and y r u calling niner fans gay? ur a niner fan, r u gay? that was the dumbest shit i have read on this blog yet, but i agree about the ownership of this team, york has crashed and burned this franchise to the ground, but i am a nolan believer, how can u say he sucks as a coach after one year, its not fair to say that u need to give him at least another year or two plus given the fact what donahue and erickson left him with,
