Dennis Georgatos, writing for the Sporting News, reports the San Francisco 49ers are not likely make any salary cap-driven cuts June 1. The team will watch the waiver wire to see if they can add a cornerback or defensive end and an offensive tackle.

I dislike kwame as much as anyone else, but I do want to give him a chance to play with Allen for a year and see if it might help him get tougher in the trenches. I’m postive that Allen will help put a mean streak in some of the lineman we have on the roster, but it’s yet to be seen if Kwame will be one of them.

Cutting Kwame at this point in the season is a ridiculous suggestion, as it would only leave a hole on the roster that could not be filled. Kwame is cheap, young, and learning. He will make a good backup and may still develop into a reasonable RT.
