Niners still interested.
Adam Shefter reported on NFL Total access that Ashley Lelie refuses to play for Denver anymore and is demanding a trade. Interest has been mild so far, but it comes from Tampa Bay, KC, Philly and the Niners.
Denver wants a first day pick, or a player of equal value, and no offers have come close to that level yet.

We have no WR that can be a deep threat. Only our rookie TE runs better than a 4.45 40 yd dash.
Lelie has been clocked in the low 4.3s and has made over 1800 yds at an amazing 19 yds a catch average over the last two years. We gave a huge contract to Bryant, who had slightly fewer yds over the same time frame.
I don’t see a reason for the Lelie hating.
Does anybody really think Battle is going to be the answer? He’s made 500 yds over the last 2 years, is injury prone and runs 4.65 in 40.

i dont know why everyone on here hates battle and barlow so much. gore runs hard and all but barlows better at picking up blitzes, overall blocking ability, and his size makes him the clear starter at the rb position. and battle is just a savage, there arent too many receivers that are willing to go over the middle fearlessly and take the hit, and block like he can.

No Lelie Trade! I would rather see where we are at our current receiving core. Barlow will be more deceisive in his run with the additon or newly renounce linemen, He is also great at screen cathces and does pick up those blitzes pretty well, give him a chance. got vd, it was a rhetorical question, just stating my opinion. the fact is dorsey, lloyd and even barlow got there chance and wernt successfull. battle still hasnt gotten a legit shot, in 03 he was a punt returner, in 04 he was hurt a few games and the way the qbs played last year no wr could have had a good year. all i know is our offense did alot better when #83 was on the feild. if they give us lelie for a 4th or later than thats cool, if not, get off lelies jock.

Kevin Barlow is a better back than he is given credit for by some here. Ashlie Lelie is not as good as some here believe he is. Hence, any trade that gives up Barlow for Lelie is a loser. Lelie, given his past production is not worth more than a 4th round pick next year. He has speed but no courage, a physically weak player who is now on the verge of whining his way out of Denver. I doubt Nolan will make any kind of deal for him and I would be shocked if it is a first day pick.

How often did you see Barlow fighting for extra yards? Not in the last 2 years. He gets scared when he knows the tacklers are coming. If you did not see that then you are blind. Some people fight through tackles, others give up on the play. Barlow was one of those who was quick to give up. The only time he tried to fight was when he got into the secondary… But when they get to him behind the line of scrimmage he just looked to go down and save himself. He needs to tough it out… He’s making million. The people in the army who put their lives on the line only make 20-40k fighting in wars, and barlow can’t fight for extra yardage for 5+ million a year? Come on.

I am a bronco fan and i hate to see Ashlie leave. He is usually a quiet, soft spoken player and this is the first time he has been out spoken. Wherever he does go I believe he will do good. Don’t expect to hear much whining from him once he is on a team.
