We had one of the worst defenses against the pass in the league last year. This video shows a nice hit but a 20 yard gain. Not much to brag about, I remember that game. I was on such a high after the 49ers beating the Rams in game 1, but then TO pretty much beat us my himself in game 2. He scored a touchdown on (I think) the second play of the game. WE NEED TY LAW! Here’s what my point was (which I guess I should have clarified since I’m not dealing with America’s brightest): Being strong has nothing to do with holding onto a football when you’re getting drilled. It has to do with mental toughness. If someone were trying to rip the football away, THEN you could make an argument for strength. But this was merely T.O. holding onto a pass when he knew he was going to take a hit (and this is a rare occurrence for him, as he’s not a very courageous receiver).

Ok, those people obsessed with signing Ty Law need to just stop. There is no reason for us to overpay for a guy represented by the Poston brothers. Even if we decided to blow some cash on him, in return we will have a stronger secondary for one, maybe two years. Yes he gets alot of interceptions, but anyone that watched him last year saw he almost always had deep help from a safety so that he was able to gamble like that. He has clearly lost a step, and that process will only accelerate in the next year or two.
He will be on the downslide and almost ready to retire right in time for our team to finally make a playoff run the season after next (it ain’t happening this year fanboy’s). Law isn’t the sort of example you want like Larry Allen either. Law is all about the money and doesn’t care about anything else. He isn’t a leader or teacher.
