There have been some rumors in Ninerland that Ty Law was set to meet with the 49ers. We checked with one of our sources and there are no truths to those rumors. Ty Law is not set to meet with the 49ers.

No meeting yet, but hopefully they will set 1 up.
26 mins after the fact.Nothing more, nothing less then a 2 year deal. That would help us sooooooo much. I just hope they don’t offer him 6 yrs for 40 million or something stupid like that.

Why the hell did you guys put this post up if the rumors are not even true? Hell I did not see these rumors anywhere anyway. Getting people’s hopes up, come on you know we will not put down the money for Ty Law with our current owner. One of our greatest weakness is the defending the pass, and Law would be awesome. But if there is no possibility, do not put it up on here like gossiping school girls to get everyone giddy. No offense intended, of course, I’m just sayin’

Why the hell would we want Ty Law? So he can come in and help us win 8 games instead of 6? All he will do is come in and take snaps away from our young DB’s. When the 49ers get to a point when they are contenders, then I am all about going out and getting a guy like Ty law. But right now, seriously what’s the point?

he guy said he got the info from “one” source. So you can say his words are bias.

ive heard it over and over for then last 24 hours so just because you havent heard anything doesnt mean there arent any rumors..rumors that hes visiting the 9ers and rumors that either the chiefs or 9ers might sign him…blah blah..
5 hours after the fact.they posted this for people like me that have actually heard these rumors so stop flippin out cause theres a post about an untrue rumor and thank you guys for posting it…
and my opinion is that we dont need ty law..guy is old as dirt…didnt look like anything more than a decent #1 corner last year in the 14 jets games i watched (living in ny)...he doesnt deserve 10 mil and im happy these rumors arent true

I posted it because of what Anonymous said above. There are some that have heard this rumor. And I wanted to pass on the info we received from someone close to the 49ers, when we asked about this rumor.

Tom you are a loser. What, you a cowboys fan? I am tired of people selling the niners short for having only 2 bad years. THATS RIGHT, 2! The season before that when we had Terrell Owens we barely lost our games…..I think 6 or 7 games lost were for a combined 13 points. If Nolan learns to use the time clock properly and would stop being so defensively biased (or if our new cheapass owner would have kept Mariuchi when we still had him…...but thats another story) we woud still be the greats of football. Well Tom, just because you sell us short does not mean I will. Everyone says we are young a rebuilding, well I say balogna. You fill what the team needs, and Ty Law would fufill a HUGE need. As for taking away snaps from the young DB’s, WHO CARES! They will learn behind Ty Law as TO learned behind Rice as Alex Smith will hopefully learn behind Dilfer. Do not sell us short, if we get Law our only serious weakness as I see it would be our offensive line and Alex Smith’s development. As for me saying a false rumor should not be posted, THERE ARE ALL KINDS OF RUMORS EVERYWHERE! I do not mean to hate, I come on this website and the ninerswebzone a lot cuz you guys rock. I am just saying if its not true why bring it up? Hey everyone we are getting McNair when the Titans cut him…..he will take us to the superbowl
Ok, there. Go ahead and put up a post discrediting that rumor. Hahaha.

law a niner…doubt it…aint gonna funna happen..if we were looking to “fill the need” with a high quality CB like law..we should of picked him or someone else up way at the beginning of free agency let alone the draft..walt harris is a nickel at best..the same goes for sammy davis..someone we picked up by getting rid of our garbage..not like we gave up a day one draft pick..
16 hours after the fact.AJVIII said:
signing Ty Law would only be beneficial to us if we don’t have to pay him an obscene amount of money. Take the Redskins for example, they shell out big bucks for big name players and they never produce. Screw those guys that collect a paycheck and don’t do jack for the team. Only if we could get a deal like we did with Deion. That would be sweet
Not likely though.

Why would we not want a guy like Law? He could play corner, but maybe we could slide him to FS if he’s cool with that. Anytime we can bring in a guy people know, that bodes well when there is a guy out there we really want. Players want to know they r going to team that is heading in the right direction, at least the kind of guys we target do( how many guys told us no 4 less money?!!)At this stage in free agency Law should be willing to take less, but we gotta win him over.

MJ you’re an idiot if you can’t see the fact that Mariucci would have never gotten us what we wanted… A Lombardi trophy. Mariuicci ended up showing what a great coach he was in Detroit.
And WTF is up with all the complaining? We had one of the best drafts, we’ve had a solid FA, we have a good front office guy in Henegan, a solid scout / drafter in McCloughan, and a damn good coach in Nolan.
Honestly I think you guys that complain now would even be complaining if Mariucci was still here, or if Walsh was still here. Even if we won a trophy every year or every other year, you guys would still be complaining. STOP CRYING.
Also, back to what everyone else has said: why would we want a guy like Law? We just picked up one of the best veterans we possibly could have in Dilfer.

Dave, I agree with you on the Mariucci thing. He had no balls. The play calling was predictable—run run pass punt run run pass punt. I mean damn a shitty defense could figure that out. He seemed great as a person, but no balls as coach. It did show in Detroit. Nolan has the balls as we can see from our selection in the draft and our acquisitions via free agency. He also showed his balls in getting rid of wanna be 50 Cent Brandon Lloyd. Give ‘em hell Nolan. Bring back the Lombardi Trophy where it belongs—San Francisco baby

On this one p-thizzil…I would agree with you! Law is the real deal and I would love to have him on the Niners. I spoke with John Clayton on Saturday, and he said that Nolan is looking to sign a #1 corner….no BS!
