This will create single coverage on the outside receivers and TE Eric Johnson. Not to mention if we split Davis out wide, teams can't tee-off on Alex Smith or commit 8 to the box. I even dreamt and actually thought that the draft occured and that the 49ers picked some bogus player that I never even heard of. This was the first draft that I actually sat down and watched. From the pre-mock drafts to the point when Taglibue called Vernon Davis for SF. To me, it felt like the Green Bay - 49er playoff game when T.O. caught the game winning touchdown. I'm excited about the up coming season, and I just have some great vibes about the future of the team. I thought I was the only one that couldn’t sleep in the two days prior to the draft.
