Ray Fittipaldo, of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, reports San Francisco 49ers RB Michael Robinson said he will embrace his role as a running back. Robinson added,
“I won’t resist the chance because I understand the way the world works. I think for you to be successful on any level you have to be a football player first. You can’t just limit yourself to whatever role you want to play.”
He said he will be used as a third-down running back-type and a slot guy who would come out of the backfield to do some thing. The team has said they would give him a shot at quarterback.

This is what you want to hear.
He isn’t sulking about how he’s gonna be used, and I can see him being an asset.

At least hes not crying like kordell did that one time on the sideline. Boo-Hoo….. I want to be a quarterback…..Kordell is pathetic. Robinson is a football player.

I want him as 2nd string QB. we allready have frank gore and barlow for runnignback. Because of his athleticism he would be greta if alex smith gets hurt.

I hope every 49er draftee gets signed quickly and all the veterens go to the mini camps and the 49ers can start geling early. They have 2 defensive lineman converting to linebacker, a saftey who was forced to play corner last year, a qb turned rb, a couple new receivers and a new TE for alex smith, a FA tackle and several lineman returning from injury.
Hopefully the early signing of williams will trigger a faster signing period for davis.
Will be very important to get these guys to start playing together in their new positions as soon as possible.

he should play the position he is best at. JM you are right we don’t need another Kordell. He just plain sucked at quarterback

Because neither Barlow, Gore, or Hicks is a viable reciever out of the backfield while this guy could be an NFL reciever but also has running back ability after the catch. Get excited

he adds depth to our WR and RB core..and can be used as an emergency QB..he can also be used as a “decoy”..put him in the backfield and motion him out..forcing a LB to go one on one..at the same time pulling the saftey to help out leaving VD and our receivers at man to man..

Yes another RB, I have really have a bad feeling when it comes to Barlow. The last two seasons have really been bad for him.

you know what it means we could possibly trade barlow
14 hours after the fact.thizzel said:
naw..if we were to trade him..if would’ve been during or before the draft…maybe next year..we could use him as trade bait…pending what he does this year..we could get a third or go low as a fifth..

If neither of our safeties we drafted pan out, i say we make him our startin free safety. Did you see the hit he layed on the cb from minnesota? I heard the cb was down for hella long and he sprained his neck or somethin like that. Hes got speed, hands, and he can hit. Let Ronnie Lott train him in coverage. Definitely one of my favorite picks of the whole weekend!
