Teams really slept on Melvin. His situation in college probably played a key role with him getting drafted so late. You really can't blame any organization to take a chance on drafting someone unrealiable. The truth is San Fran got a steal. I mean they got a damn good steal and also I'm suprised that Nick Saban didn't get him. When he's fully developed every team in the league will all talk about how wonderful he is. He's the first of that great Opelika product. We have T.J. Jackson with the Atlanta Falcons. But remember Deeboe ur a Dawg for life and ur from home of the 12th man baby. Only for Opelika alum

Teams really slept on my boy from the "O". I'ts cool because when he handle his buisness the year or next season. People always try a to bad mouth when u deal with the law. I think that may caused his draft status to slip some. IF people only knew him he's one of the nicest cats you would meet. Anyways, deeboe have a good season and forget the hatters. Remember this your always a Dawg and home of the 12th man baby. Only for Opelika alum

From ESPN.com: San Francisco picking up LSU DE Melvin Oliver is an excellent move. Oliver has had some off-the-field problems and his upside is limited by his lack of athleticism. Oliver would be a poor fit in a 4-3 defense, but he is a great fit for the 49ers' 3-4 defense. He plays with good leverage and is strong enough to hold his own in the two-gap scheme. He should provide some much needed depth.

He will be fine as a backup 3-4 DE. He will learn behind one of the best in BY, who will shown him what he needs to do in order to be consistent. He is better than any backup 3-4 DE we got right now at least.
