Delanie Walker will make a impact to the 49ers special teams and offense, i would not be surprised if he started by the end of the season.

Speeed? Here is some inclination to his speed: 40 Speed: 4.62*. HOLY SHIT! This guy is as big as he is and still is this quick? Hell I do not know about you guys but he sounds like he will do some damage for sure. Walker also said he can't wait to flatline and pancake some safeties. I like this pick more than the Brandon Williams one. I really am confused as to why we passed up Bing in the 3rd AND 4th rounds, that would have made sense. But hell, this looks good too.

From ESPN.com: Central Missouri State WR Delanie Walker (No. 175), and played at a small school, so he is going to need time to develop before making an impact. However, this is a strong pick for two reasons. The first is he can provide some much needed depth this year, and the second is upside. Walker has the wide frame to shield defenders from the ball and he is a powerful open-field runner that can produce after the catch. Now he needs to work on catching the ball more consistently and running sharper routes.

Defense and defence are both acceptable.

It is a curious pick, though.

This draft is pleasing to me, even though I don't understand one of the picks. My view of last year's season was that the 9ers had average talent on defense, and, after the injury prone players went out on offense, the worst offense in 49er history.

In my personal opinion I think it is the 49ers' duty to make sure we don't see an offense like that ever again, especailly not in back to back years, even if it means taking a half a step backwards on defense. This means that if offensive players are there that they want, they should take them. This means they should over pay a couple free agents, so be it, there was a 17.5 million raise in the cap. I still think they should have worked out a deal for walker.

There will still be june cuts and the 49ers can patch up the defense a little more with 1-2 year contracts on veterens, not strapping the cap longterm, and allowing for Smith to have a better offense to get his protection, receiving core, running game, and most importantly confidence up.

This draft for sure is showing that Nolan doesn't have the same "hazy eyed" view of the niner's receiving core. I keep hearing people say we have 9 receivers. And? Before this draft there was Bryant, a solid NFL starter, not a pro bowler. And Battle, a still struggling converted WR who is injury prone. Who else? Please top telling me any of the other receivers is worth anything towards winning a game in the NFL.

The step back in defensive talent should be made up for by the increase in offensive production leading to longer drives and an even time of possession. No more games struggling to get a first down. No more games feeling like I'm watching a trainwreck in progress.
