The 49ers probably will not try to move up in next week’s draft by packaging their two first-round picks in a trade with one of the five teams ahead of them. Coach Mike Nolan would not rule out such a move, but said Friday that the 49ers were leaning toward using their No. 6 and No. 22 selections in hopes of acquiring two players who can start right away.
The 49ers acquired the later first-round pick this week from Denver for second- and third-round selections.
“This trade is more about getting starters and guys that can come in and be impact players than it does creating a whole lot of depth,” Nolan said.

We should not trade up. Two quality players are better than one. I’m thinking VD with #6

they could (and this is something that has happen) if VD is gone and they are not hot for AJ or think Huff is a #6 trade down and take the best DB availble and get a 2nd round pic for the TE spot.
I doubt VD will be gone @6, but draft day is totally different than all this second guessing.

This is exactly the way i would want it to go. Huff at #6, Lawson, Carpenter, or Demeco Ryans at #22, then get Anthony Fasano with our 3rd round pick. Then with the rest of the picks fill in needs like getting a WR, a O-lineman, D-lineman, even another linebacker, also a FB…

Naw, don’t trade up keep it where we at. We dont need a FB, I say we put Barlow at FB and Gore at RB. Our Team isn’t going to be at the bottom of the charts this year.

That would be the worst move Nolan would have ever made if he decides to trade up, cause two first round picks are better than one!

Fasano will go in the 2nd round.
9 hours after the fact.all the secound tier TEs will go before the 3rd round especially before #84.

i know theres so much hype for lawson..but ernie sims and greenway would probaly be better fits for the team(if they do fall that far)..they are natural OLB’s..one of the two positions that we dont have a legitimate starter..our 3-4 defense would look like this..our NT adams..our DE’s young/douglas..our ILB’s smith/ulbrich..OLB’s moore/sims or greenway..CB’s rumph/spencer..S’s parrish/adams..

For those who are in favor of the 49ers taking Ernie Sims or Chad Greenway, thinking that Manny Lawson is way over-hyped should check and see how coveted Greenway and Sims are as well.
Last I heard/read, Sims has been climbing the charts and may be the second linebacker taken in the draft. It’ll be a tossup between him and Greenway, but I think the 49ers will end up with Lawson. Greenway is awesome, but I doubt he’ll fall to 22. It’s somewhat unlikely Sims or Lawson would fall past 18 either.
Where the linebackers end up will depend tremendously on where the top three QBs get drafted. The later (or more spread out) they are drafted, the more likely a linebacker will fall down to us at 22nd.
