This is from NFL Draft Almanac. Take it for what it is worth. We are trying to verify with our sources if there are any truths to these rumors.
We continue to hear news that disgruntled Packers WR Javon Walker will be traded before the April 29th NFL Draft. The 49ers, Eagles and Broncos have all surfaced as possible suitors. Our sources close to the 49ers say that the team has offered a 2007 2nd round pick, but the Packers are asking for a 2006 pick.

Give the packers our 2nd round pick this year to get walker. Those who say he not worth it. Then pretend we Drafted him in the draft with the second pick! Let’s get this guy! We need a true #1 reciever.

Man a 2nd rounder is still too rich for my blood, even if it is a 2007 pick. The character + injury issues worry me. I doubt they’ll get a better offer unless GB would rather have a 3rd this year.
BTW, I must applaud 49ersNews for their choice of Arnaz Battle as the face of the site.

i think it is worth it, also agree with the Battle, I loved him since ND, he has proven to be a hard working good pickup, great late round draft pick.

You guys are hypin up Battle too much. Remember good guys finish last. What has Battle done for the 49ers anyways? He is a 3rd WR at best. We need a true #1 receiver!

dude, i am not hyping him too much, i want walker, I just think its cool that he is on the header cause he is a hard working team player.

Just because someone wants a bigger contract does not mean they have character issues: Edgerrin James, Shaun Alexander, etc. have held out to get theirs raised. He’s not getting money he deserves. I’d be thrilled with the 2nd round pick next year, because this year the draft is deep, and we could pull out one hell of a line-up.

it is obvious that when Battle is on the feild our offense is much more effective. the Walker trade would be great as long as Battle gets his share of snaps.

I don’t think GB will get a much better offer than a 2007 2nd or a 2006 3rd. I’d rather we keep our 2nd this year because this draft seems pretty deep. If we make this trade and have a strong draft dare I say it, “playoffs?!!”.

Thats great you guy’s want more targets for are QB. But how do you determine on our QB getting the ball to them when he’s running for his life. One side alone can’t protect him. Mabey pick up one more vetren for the OL.

Just get the dude out of Green Bay.

Do what it takes to sign him. With this type of receiving corps the defense will be running ragged wondering who to cover
It will also open up our running game. Let’s get a quality offense with lots of weapons so we can have guaranteed scoring in the opening drives just like it was when we had Montana.

they need to make this trade happen this will instantly make our team have one of the best receiving groups in the league especially if we get VD wow:

Left Tackle, Left Guard, and Center are all vets. If Newberry is down Heitmann is there as a backup and Adam Snyder had a really good rookie year at Tackle. At the Right Guard spot it can either be Heitmann or Baas who are both good there. Then you got a few guys who can be rotated in and be effective. The line is alot better now and we lost that built in excuse just like how we lost the kicking game excuse last season.

We got Larry Allen now, so we’re okay at the o-line maybe a little more working there, but I think we’ll be okay at that spot.
