This is from NFL Draft Almanac. Take it for what it is worth. We are trying to verify with our sources if there are any truths to these rumors.

We continue to hear news that disgruntled Packers WR Javon Walker will be traded before the April 29th NFL Draft. The 49ers, Eagles and Broncos have all surfaced as possible suitors. Our sources close to the 49ers say that the team has offered a 2007 2nd round pick, but the Packers are asking for a 2006 pick.

04.18.06 – Leave Kwame Alone? Why Should I?

Well, by now you have noticed Tony Farmer’s article about Kwame Harris. I’m wondering, IS Tony Farmer Kwame Harris? If you have not read it yet, you may want to before reading this one.

Before I start, I want to say that Tony Farmer is a good guy. I like Tony and enjoy his articles, but come on now! Let me reprint the quote everyone is upset about. I’ll remind you that it is not confirmed that this quote is from Kwame, but let us assume it it, as we did for Tony’s article…

04.18.06—Leave him be. Please Niner fans, leave Kwame Harris alone.

Recently an article from Scouts Inc. featured a quote from an unnamed offensive lineman from the 2003 draft class. When asked “Do you like football?” The player allegedly answered, “It’s OK. I mean, I am pretty good at it, but I have a lot of interests, too. A lot of days, when I am getting ready for practice, I would prefer to be back home playing my piano.”

Quarterbacks: This is still a very young position. It’s no secret that things weren’t looking so hot for Alex Smith when he first took over the position. However, you can’t put the entire blame on his shoulders, as he was behind an injury depleted offensive line, no tight end, and receivers that were either inconsistent or injured. This is not to mention the suspect play calling of McCarthy. The good news is if you look at film of his last two starts compared to the others, you can see definite signs of improvement. He managed the game much better and looked more comfortable out there. I think if we provide him with more weapons as well as Norv Turner’s coaching he’ll thrive.
