Update: 04.16.06 – Clayton reported the $110,000 cap hit. However Woods will count $2.5 million as ‘dead money’. The amount Clayton reported is in addition to the $2.5 million.
04.14.06 – John Clayton is reporting that the cap hit the Niners will take due to the trade of Rashaun Woods is a little over $100,000.
Niners coach Mike Nolan might have cut or traded Woods last year, but the cap hit would have been too steep. Now, San Francisco lets him go and takes only a $111,000 cap hit even though Woods is entering only his third season.

I know this is waaay off topic but, I would love to see the Niners take a shot at signing Lavar Arrington. And rumors or speculation on that happening?

Steve…not a chance on Arrington. Nolan has said in the past that Arrington is overrated.

Why $2.5M? Seems steep for a player in his 3rd year and low 1st round draft pick.
