Update: 04.16.06 – Bill Williamson, of the Denver Post, reports there is speculation in Green Bay the Green Bay Packers will grant WR Javon Walker his wish and deal him. If Walker is traded, is it likely to happen draft week or during the NFL Draft. It appears the Denver Broncos, Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers could be the front-runners for Walker. Green Bay has maintained it expects Walker to stay. But if a good enough offer comes along, including a draft pick, it might be tempting for the Packers to rid themselves of the distraction Walker is sure to create.

03.28.06 – Adam Schefter, NFL Network, just reported on Total Access that Packers are listening to trade offers, though probably won’t get anything done until closer to the draft to drive up his price. Niners have shown interest, along with Denver and Philly.

The only thing I would be concerned with is Antonio Bryant
He is already on record saying that he was offended when the Browns decided to draft a WR in the 1st round to compete for the #1 spot… So if all of the sudden he is told hes our #1 guy and we go out and get Javon (most likely won’t happen) to be our #1… I wonder how Bryant takes it???

Its hard to say what Green Bay is going to take for Walker. Everyone in the league knows that if they keep him, he’ll just hold out, and they’ll end up cutting him. So similar to the Niners’ TO situation a few years back, a 3rd or 4th rounder wouldn’t be a stretch… think about it: we got a 3rd and a 4th rounder for B.Lloyd (lol).

I’m not saying its impossible to get Walker for a 4th rd pick… I just dont think a 4th rounder in next years draft is going to cut it… I believe there would have to be more interest than that by other teams!

Getting Walker for a 3rd round pick and then signing VD with our first round pick will make me one happy fellow! Our offense will be unbelievable! Think about it, getting VD and Walker to add recently acquired Antonio Bryant; Alex Smith would have it made! Hell Norv Turner is out offensive coordinator, prolly the best o-coordinator of all time. It will be insane, if this happens the Niners moves this offseason will make Edgerrin James going to Arizona look trivial. As for Bryant, he can sit back at #2 wide reciever and the endzone threat and Battle at #3 if this happens, cuz when VD comes in there are so many options that the offense will just be scary.
