"Three-year veteran fullback Jeremi Johnson on Thursday completed a five-year, $7.528 million extension with the Bengals that, in new money, made Johnson the highest-paid fullback in football. The deal came hours after he signed his one-year, $721,600 restricted free-agent tender.

...

Johnson also flirted briefly this offseason with signing a restricted free-agent offer sheet with the San Francisco 49ers. The new deal replaces his 2006 contract and adds five more years, keeping him signed through 2011."

- Len Pasquarelli, ESPN

Damn, if this guy is indeed as good as his contract is paying him, maybe we should have traded for him!

Whats all the hate on 49ernews for? This is by far the best news site for niner related material out there.

This is coming from an ESPNaholic. I even check 49ersnews before I hit up ESPN and I pay for it's insider features.

Yes Len P. mentioned it in his tip sheet. That is the first mention in this post. But I asked my source who is close to the Niners and they are not pursuing Johnson. But of course Len P is always right...(rolls eyes)

Milkman...I have no reason to spread disinformation. You must be 'desperate' for news if you are here.

Dude... it's from 49ernews.com... take it with a grain of salt. 49ernews is a nice "entertaining" site for when you're desperate for any kind of news, even if it's wrong...

Like don't get me wrong they're great for some stories (eg. Antonio Bryant, that was a p**ser!)... but they also like spreading disinformation to catch other sites out. So, I dunno... if the Bengals official website ran a story about it, I'm failry sure that it is legit.

Jeremi Johnson is a great fullback, and i think he is worth a 4th round pick. Hes a proven fullback. I dont think you guys realize how important a good fullback is. With the absents of Fred Beasly I would be happy if we did that. With a decent line, a good blocking TE, Jeremi Johnson would be a great addition for Frnak Gore, and Kevan Barlow. Full back is one of the most underrated positions and we dont even have one.
