With Oakland just signing Aaron Brooks and drafting Andrew Walter in the 2nd or 3rd round last year, along with having M. Tuiasasopo....I doubt they'd draft a QB. Then again, Weird Al does weird things. I can see AZ moving up from #10 to grab Young or Cutler with our #6....Warner ain't going to last very much longer! At #10 we could still be looking at VD....we hope.

There are going to be teams wanting the 6th pick to grab a QB ahead of Oakland.

If we can trade down a couple spots and still get VD that would be sweet.

Niners have to stop being cheap and pick the best player available at #6. Who cares if its D'Brick or VD. Huff we can get if we trade down.

Steven, I agree with you, # 6 is kind of a tough pick this year, unless 2 QBs go in the top 5. If not, we are getting a top 10/12 guy for #6 money. Clearly if we could get (in order) M Williams, D'Brick, AJ Hawk, we'd be getting a hell of a value. If not I would want to trade down, altho it would be hard because, at that point, #6 would be very over priced. But I would trade down anywhere - I mean with any team, to get equivalent value and load up with some very good starters that can be had at picks 15-100 - for a lot less money than getting a TE at #6 money. That is not a smart investment.

mike huff would be a waste of the 6th pick because he is probably not even going to go in the top 10. the best value at 6 is picking someone who could potentially go in the top 5. while vernon is more of a top 10 pick, it's ok because most of the projected top 5's will be gone when the niners choose

Yeah it sounds like it to me too. I thought also thougth a lot who i want at 6th pick. I went through AJ Hawk, Mario Williams, Vernon Davis, but i think i want Mike Huff the most at tht pick, We need secendary more than anything. Only exception is if D'Brickashaw Ferguson is still there. If we get HAwk or Davis i wouldnt complain tho..

Wow...

“We’re going to take the best player available in the draft,” Nolan said. “We’re not going to target a position, because we’re not at that point.” - Nolan...

I don't know about everyone else, but that sure as heck sounds like Vernon Davis to me!
