Anybody who says "who gives a c***"; doesn't understand football operations and the benefit that it has to have a free shot at filling another hole. The team gets a look at another potential rising star from the late rounds.

Suck it bitches! We got the Rat in the 7th and 5 years later traded him for a 6th. We keep this up we'll have 3 more 6th rounders in 5 years! Seriously though, Dwight Clark was drafted in the 10th round and Jessie Sapolu was drafted in the 11th.

Brady was drafted in the 6th. Priest Holmes wouldn't have really amounted of jack outside of Kansas City. My mom could run for 1500 yards there.

Yeah, having a 7th round pick is better than having to try to sign the undrafted free agent later. At least for the time being, you have exclusive negotiation rights (I think) when a player is drafted.

Theres plenty of talent in the draft, and the thing that makes seventh rounders turn into stars is not talent alone; the player needs a lot of heart. Being drafted in the seventh round and accepting your role tests that right out of the gates.
