With the CBA still in limbo, the current NFL Salary Cap sits at $95 million dollars. At this time the 49ers are $17.5 million under the cap, with a million of that due to the release of Plummer. If a new CBA is reached, (John Clayton is reporting he expects it to be done within 24 hours) the new cap figure is estimated to be between $102-$107 million. Thus putting the Niners in this range: $24.5-$29.5 million. So lets hope Clayton is correct and a new CBA is done soon. $24 million will certainly make this free agency an good one.

Won’t the larger cap number help teams to keep their free agents?
